All youth 14-21 [and their parents] are invited to attend the Youth Fair hosted by the Youth Advisory Group of the Concho Valley Workforce Development Board.  

The Youth Fair will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2015 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Southside Boys and Girls Club, 2762 Ben Ficklin Road in San Angelo. You can get ready for summer employment by visiting information booths of more than thirty community agencies; filling-out job applications; finding volunteer work; exploring college and training beyond high school or GED; and, determining if eligible for Summer Jobs program.  There will be free food and prizes!

In addition, participants can pre-register online at http://www.cvworkforce.org/287/Youth-Fair-2015 to attend three free training sessions, each at 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and noon, on “Child Labor Laws: You Work Hard for It.  Know your Rights!”; “Applications: Fill in the Blanks.  How to Write a Winning Application!”; and, “Communications:  ‘Casual Talk’ versus ‘Business Talk’ ”.  Some employers will be there and if you plan to interview, dress appropriately.

From 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Youth Fair participants will enjoy the ‘Battle of the Bands’ in the Southside Boys and Girls Club gym.  Time slots are still available for bands and/or solo musicians to play their sets.  Call (325) 655-2005 by 5 p.m. this Wednesday (4/22).
